The game also gives you choices, but they aren't anywhere close to as cut-and-dry as harvesting a young girl's ADAM for your own benefit. Technically, this game is a first-person shooter that features role-playing elements. That being said, they're so ridiculously well done and the combat is always so enticing that you really don't care. The game is at its best when you're pulling off a chain of lightning-fast kills to destroy a room full of enemies, riding the Skyline around the huge environment, and pulling items from tears. It is at its worst when you're trying to have a plain old fight.

But I think the me-too instinct is as rampant among film and television composers as it is in game music. So I think the premise is incorrect if it singles out only game music for being too generic. I think there are a lot of mediocre scores out there, in film, TV and games, and a few great ones. That has probably always been true. It reflects what is in one sense a positive thing in as much as it is really hard to write great music. So, yes, the game is a steaming pile and an utter waste of time and money. Combat in the game is a disaster, plain and simple.
